Blockbuster's Newer Services And The Blockbuster Free Trial
By: Travis Tobin.
Today, there are many options for viewing movies, and Blockbuster has been fighting to stay on top. As new sites like Netflix steal away business, and 1 dollar video rental machines are becoming increasingly ubiquitous, Blockbuster has found itself flanked by overwhelming competition. But don't write off Blockbuster just yet. As you will see by taking the Blockbuster free trial, the company still has many things going for it.
Not long ago, Blockbuster unveiled a service called Total Access. This service competes directly with Netflix, offering DVD rentals by mail. The Blockbuster service, much like the Netflix program, boasts that it does not have any due dates or late fees. One option that makes Blockbuster better is that you can exchange your rentals at one of the stores if you don't want to wait for the next title to arrive by mail. (There is a Blockbuster free trial currently available for 2 weeks).
Another way in which Blockbuster is trying to stay on top of competitors is by offering an online service where you can download movies and watch them from your computer. This is most likely Blockbuster's way of trying to keep competitors like iTunes and Amazon at bay (both offer a similar download service).
And finally, Blockbuster still has its stores, which seem to be on every street corner of the country. They will likely stay around since a lot of people still like browsing titles at video stores. But as media evolves, the number of stores will likely decrease.
It appears that Blockbuster is doing everything it can to keep up with new technologies as the movie rental business continually evolves. In recent years, the company has struggled with mounting debts, but perhaps by offering such a nice menu of new services, it will fight its way back to the top of the mountain.
You can get a 2 week Blockbuster free trial to the Total Access service, which allows you to rent movies by mail. This service is as good as Netflix, if not better, and we recommend it to all movie fans.
