A Guide To Getting Luscious Legs For Spring
By: Tracy Grisham
Spring is around the corner, and chances are your skin is not ready for the warmer weather. If you've spent the winter bundled up and your skin has gotten dry and dull, now is the time to try to perk it back up!
Focus your efforts first on the legs. The legs are on nearly constant display in hotter weather, because of shorts and summer dresses and skirts. Getting legs summer shorts-ready can take time so start early and follow the tips below.
Start with conditioning the legs. Your legs are almost certainly pale from having been covered all winter long. Sun exposure isn't that healthy for skin anyhow.
Instead, use a self-tanning product. A self tanner is an inexpensive way to get a very quick tan. Exfoliate first to prep the skin, then apply the tanner according to directions. After you are done with the tanner, using a moisturizer with sunscreen is recommended.
Your legs should also be toned. Start an exercise regime. It does not have to be complex. Here are a couple of easy exercises that can make a big difference:
-Calf raises: This is an easy move that can be done with little to no equipment, and is effective quickly. Simply stand with the balls of your feet on a surface that allows you to stand flatfooted with your heels hanging off. A stair step works very well for this, as does a stepper bench like the ones used in step aerobic classes. Raise up on your toes, and then come back down, repeatedly. This should burn in the calf muscles if it is done right.
-Jump rope: If you want an easy, inexpensive full-body conditioning workout, try jumping rope. It is great for the legs, and also provides an excellent cardiovascular workout as well. A couple weeks of jumping rope for a half-hour daily will have you in stellar shape for even the flirtiest dresses and skirts.
