Healthy Prostates Need Supplements

By: Rudy Petersens

Prostate health is on the mind of every man over the age of 40. Like most men, I'm sure that you're searching for a natural supplement for your prostate health.

Due to medical research advancements, there have been some exciting new discoveries. Plus there are quite a few traditional, long standing innate supplements that will assist you in achieving a healthy prostate.

Lycopene is a pigment which occurs naturally in many fruits and vegetables. Lycopene is the pigment that makes your tomato ketchup red! Lycopene is found in many other fruits and vegetables, including carrots and watermelons.

Our bodies don't create lycopene, so we have to ingest it in our foods and supplements. Lycopene is an exceptional supplement and has been made known to maintain and improve prostate health. Lycopene also reduces the risks of other cancers and heart disease.

Another not very well known supplement for prostate health is pygeum africanum. The pygeum tree is found in Africa, and natives have used the bark for centuries to supplement prostate health.

Recent studies have revealed a superior supplement called beta sitosterol. This supplement has been made known to be many times more powerful than both saw palmetto and africanum combined.

Saw palmetto is found in the dried fruit of partially ripened fruits grown on American dwarf palm trees. These palm trees are native to the southern coastal regions of the United States.

Research has made known that saw palmetto relieves symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate. Two of these symptoms include frequent urination and nighttime urination.

Stinging Nettle is an additional therapeutic natural remedy. Stinging nettle is made known to help prevent an enlarged prostate, although it won't heal an enlarged prostate. However, it will provide relief from the symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate.

These are just a few of the innate prostate health supplements available these days to help men maintain a health prostate. Remember to tell your doctor when you start taking a new supplement.
