By: Miss Ethridge

There are several very important techniques that you can implement the next time you feel the onset of an anxiety attack will assist you in stopping it immediately. These techniques provided here are very simple to use, they are effective, and can impact your situation as soon as you use it. I've been using these tips for the over 15 years and I know they'll have a great impact on how you deal with panic attacks and anxiety.

It is important to understand that if your intention is to stop a panic attack or any future phobia moments from occurring, you must understand that the usual symptoms associated with an anxiety are racing thoughts, fear, and confusion. As a result this causes one to feel scared. It's very challenging to think clearly when the thoughts of fear and doubt take most of the room up there in your head. The latter thoughts feed into your panic and those feelings of anxiety and fear begin.

A technique that has been great for me is telling myself there is absolutely nothing wrong and there's no real apparent danger in front of me. Stay focused on the NOW, and not the future. That promotes a slowed down thinking process and forces your thoughts not scramble to the point where you are not effective and instead you're left powerful in any circumstance.

As your anxiety increases, your breathing becomes faster and you eventually start to hyperventilate. You then start to experience, through such loss of oxygen, light-headedness which is what causes your body to experience more panic due to your thinking about how you cannot breathe correctly.

If you continue to have frightening thoughts, try to distract yourself with other good things going on in your life and put your full concentration on the activities you select. This will allow you to switch your focus to endeavors that don't feed your mind with frenzied thoughts.

A method on how to stop an anxiety attack is related to your breathing Often times, during the onset of an anxiety attack, you become scared and your heart begins to race faster to the point where your thoughts begin to control your actions rather than the other way around.

There is a great deal of information out there on anxiety cure, overcome anxiety, and dealing with panic attacks. However the most common concern most people have is directly correlated to how to eliminate anxiety one it commences. Never give up because the light is at the end of the tunnel.

The best thing you can do in that situation of not breathing properly is to wait, breathe in for 5 seconds and breathe out for 5 seconds. Do not stop until you have gained control of your bearings. That will really help.
