Blog Post Writing Seven Useful Steps To Guide Your Writing

By: Gen Wright

Clueless as to how you can write content for your blog? Then, this useful, easy-to-follow guide is for you. Read on!

1. First thing to do is to establish your objective for each blog post that you create. What would you like to achieve with this specific post? Are you trying to convince your readers that you're an authority in your niche? Are you trying to win their trust and confidence? Do you want them to simply have a great time while reading your post? Well, it's important that you're clear with your goals. This is the first step you need to take in order to achieve them.

2. Know your audience. If you think that knowing your audience is just a waste of time, think again. There is no way that you'll be able to make your content targeted if you don't know the people that you're writing for. So, invest time in getting to know them on a deeper level. It's important that you know their needs, preferences, demands, profile, level of comprehension, etc. so you can easily figure out how you'll write your content is such a way that you can get the kind of response that you need from these people.

3. Choose your topics. Choosing the topics for your blog should be easy. First, it's must be aligned to the theme of your site. Second, it must be very interesting to your readers. Third, it must be related to the products that you sell. And lastly, it must be relatively new as online users will surely not waste their time reading something that they already know.

4. Use compelling headlines. Draw your target readers in by using enticing titles for your blog posts. Learn how you can target the emotional hot buttons of these people or how you can evoke them to take action. Do everything to make sure that they'll open your content.

5. Don't save the best for last. Hook your readers by presenting the juiciest information on your first couple of sentences. You see, these people will gauge the quality and value of your posts based on your first 100 words. If these people did not see anything that is worth their while on this part, they will close your blog and move to the next one. You don't want that to happen, do you?

6. Make your content scannable. Making your content readable is another way to get your audience to stay a little longer on your blog. Ensure that you discuss each of your ideas using bullet lists or short paragraphs so your readers can easily digest them. Then, use subheadings. These are useful to your readers as subheadings will give them an idea as to what kind of information is included in the next paragraph. They can just easily skip it if they want.

7. Keep it simple. Even if you're the best in your chosen niche, there is no reason to use highly technical terms or high fallutin words in your content. Believe me, these words will not help you convince your visitors that you've got higher knowledge in your chosen subject. In fact, this may just annoy them. So, stick with simple terms all the time. Make sure that your blog posts are simple enough that even a 10th grader will understand them.
