How Copyrighting Can Take Over Your Business

By: Marsha McDowell

The power of copyrights is entitled to anyone, anywhere. You may have not released any published work yet but that does not mean that you have no hold no copyrights at the moment. Having this said, it simply means that getting a copyright is very easy and could even come unnoticed.

From the moment that you have finished or created a work on your own, as long as it does not copy anyone's work, the law of the United States already grants copyrights to protect your work. It automatically entitled your work under your name as an original work that no one should ever copy or steal it from you.

You won't even have to be told and you don't even have to declare copyrights. It is automatically granted to you. It can be automatically covered as your own work, under your name, or under your business' name.

For example, you have created a mini eBook, a website, a speech that is life changing - if tangible works are the only things that can be copyrighted today, because of technology, all the things that you have worked hard for can be copyrighted. But, take note that even though getting rights and protection of your own work can be easily attained, this privilege or advantage should not be taken for granted.

Sometimes, people may not even have realized the importance of copyright. As a matter of fact, it has been considered as one of the best things and benefits that one business may get. Without having these rights, a random person can just use your work or your logo and make a profit out of it.

Although some people have overlooked the power of copyrighting, it has played a very important role in everyone's lives. Just imagine, without this very important law, each and every person can easily steal ideas, names, and works - just imagine how the industry would be! Without copyrighting, it is like saying that plagiarism is legal, and this is not a very good indication. Copyrighting plays an important role when it comes to the economy's rising and falling. Even though you don't have your own business, it is still a good thing that you practice copyrighting in your everyday lives.
