Writing instant profit sales letters through copywriting is a million dollar skill and anybody can learn it even with a high school education and without a professional degree one can learn it but few here are some basics that should be taken care of before writing the million dollar sales letters
1. A thorough knowledge about your product is required - This is the first thing and that is the full knowledge of your product, business and of course when you write your sales letter with that then you would have an unfair advantage over your competitors. And you don't need to hire a professional copywriter to have him step into your shoes so that he gets the knowledge for you and it may take time. So it is the first advantage and you need to have it.
2. Know your audience - You should make sure who you are talking to who might make a lot of sense to you. For example if you have internet based virtual product which allows video conferencing then a software professional would be more open to you rather than an owner of a store.
3. Get into the customer's shoes - An old saying, that is you have to walk into a the person's shoes for a mile to understand him and that should be the goal so that we could motivate him to buy what we are offering after determining his needs and you can also ask yourself some really searching questions for your customer such as , What are their top 3 daily frustrations? What are they scared of ? Why are they angry if so? What is the biggest challenge they are facing?
4. Get into the offer for them - Building a list of product features and benefits as people prefer features over benefits so start talking about holes if you want to sell drills as people who bought drills never wanted a drill but they wanted a hole as they want a solution to their problems not just another problem.
5. Repeat, Repeat and Repeat - One should understand that you or me need to memorize or the see the things 7-8 times before it starts to go into the long term memory. So if you are selling something you'll have to ask for the sale several times before they actually buy. Sometimes, you have to ask by different ways until your audience gets the information.
And the most important thing of all and that is your sales letter should be compelling enough for the customer to take action whether it is your opt-in page or getting him to buy your product. Copywriting can make your business progress by huge leaps and bounds but only if you learn it thoroughly and improvise on it.
